It's time for a new writing challenge
It's time to join me on an adventure by reading my 2023 writing challenge. The yearly writing challenge is a 21-weekday intensive of writing essays on a theme. It’s the most wonderful, difficult, dump-it-on-the-paper thing that I do each year. I love the discipline it brings me in forcing me to write every day. Each day I receive a prompt that encourages me to write on my theme. I belong to a large group of writers and we are all in this together, each using the daily prompt to write on our own theme.

By now you’re probably wondering what this year’s theme will be. I’ll be writing on gentleness with myself, on healing and changing and acceptance. Many of you know I’ve been recovering from a total knee replacement. I’ve realized that the process has been something I can only call Slow Forward. Each part of the journey has been two steps forward and one step back. It’s a mental shift for a go-go-go person like me to accept this journey, which is still not completely over.

I look forward to exploring this idea of gentleness, both as it relates to my physical recovery, aging and whatever else might arise. I hope you’ll want to join me. You can sign up below on the form.

We start next Monday, February 5, so please don’t wait! I won’t be publishing on Facebook, but you can find it here, every day, if you don't get it delivered by email.

Here we go!
